View Full Version : Anybody used or own KONDO gear???
analogue_lover 04-07-2006, 12:48 PM Hey Gang:
I'm looking at becoming a Kondo dealer, only because the stuff is probably the best built product that I have ever seen. Any AK'ers have any experience with this super-high-end gear?
Thanks!
Mike :thmbsp:
hifi_nut 04-07-2006, 04:43 PM Are you talking about this Kondo?

He has designed what is considered by many one of the best tube amps ever, the ONGAKU.
This is the stuff dreams are made of.... :sigh:

Sandy G 04-08-2006, 10:18 PM How do mere mortals afford this stuff?
grumpy 04-08-2006, 10:27 PM That gear plays in a different league then I ever will. Still would love to hear it...

Where in NH?
Unda Maris 04-10-2006, 05:55 PM I heard some of the original Audio Note/Kondo gear on the High End Fair in Frankfurt some years ago.
Who is the fool, who invests $200.000 in a pair of mono blocks, which produce a quite noticable buzzzzzz if connected to high efficiency speakers ? Did they ever sell these ?
Is the buzz perhaps part of the legendary sound ?
Or didnīt they use snake oil filled quantum purified single crystal silver-palladium interconnects for demo, which filter out that kind of low frequency interference ?
What did I miss ? Am I a blasphemer or just a normal thinking human being ?
FlorianW 04-15-2006, 08:39 AM I find the Audio Note gear to be quite good sounding, except their speakers which i would use as a footstool or maybe as firewood during the cold winters. Awsome electronics tough but insanely priced!

FWIW - For all of us Americans who are not used to reading European style decimals, they reverse the ".", and the "," in most of Europe. So the number quoted above is actually: $200,000!!!
grumpy 04-15-2006, 01:59 PM Just want to be clear I was talking about the Japanese AN and not the Brit AN of which I use their speakers.

Have to disagree with you there Sir Grumpy....I've seen your system, and have a reasonable idea of its price tag. Go DIY at that price point, and you'll smoke that 'off-the-rack' stuff.
And you'll have more fun while you're at it...not to mention learning something cool.
cheers,
Douglas
