Well I figured it was time to get the smoker fired up again. I decided on cooking spares and picked up 4 racks at the local costco. Rubed them down with the BRITU rub and fired up the smoker. 4 nice sized chunks of pecan and 7 hrs later I sauce them down with KC masterpeice mixed with honey, grill quickly and enjoy. I am in heaven Nothing and I mean nothing beats good BBQ.

Gonna do a couple of boston butts this weekend for some company. can't wait

Already enjoyed our first Boston Butt of the season. I believe I will defrost the free-after-you-spend-$300 grocery store Easter turkey and give it the apple and applewood treatment on Saturday. http://www.websmileys.com/sm/happy/1359.gif

Can't wait for the BB. I am going to try the "renowned Mr. Brown". I have 2 nice 10 pounders so I guess about 16-18 hrs they should be done. I am gonna try lump on this one. I found a store locally that has wicked good lump and the price is not that bad. I am thinking cherry and oak on this one.

I'm a strong advocate of lump too. I feed the ash to my rose bushes.

I'm going to have to crank up the smoker this weekend.

I'm in Norcal - SF Bay - and it has barely stopped raining long enough to go outside much less smoke something since sometime in Mar! We usually are having good weather in Mar and lo and behold winter decided to happen! :thumbsdn: :grumpy:

I have a rule: No matter how much rain, snow, hail or wind will NOT stop "Crazy J" from smoken....... :smoke: :smoke: :smoke: :smoke: :thmbsp:

Well the BB's were excellent. I purchased boneless BB by mistake but I managed ( I hate boneless butts :) ) One thing that amazed me was the wicked good lump. Four pounds of it lasted the entire 14 hour session and that definatly makes up for it higher cost. Now I have to decide whats on next weekends menu :)
