I may know a couple things about stereo gear, about cars, and about computers, but this one, I dunno.

I have an electric range, so the broiler element is at the top of the oven. When I broil chicken, steaks, etc, am I supposed to keep the oven closed, or is it supposed to be ajar a couple inches?

So much for my user name, eh?

I figured I could ask here and not be ranked out too badly. But let's just say I broiled some chicken tonight and set off the living room smoke detector when I opened the oven door. :smoke:

Open, as I was taught...YMMV. :smoke:

Some water or your favorite beverage may be used in the drip pan so those drops of fat don't burn. :thmbsp:

Always open with an electric range.
