What a thing to find laying around!
Got a bare engine block, from a Buick 264ci "nailhead" V8 engine, made sometime between 1953 and 1960 or so. It's definitely been laying around a long time (a pretty thick coat of rust on the cast iron, pretty much everywhere), but it appears to be solid and in good shape (ie, the bores are free from scoring and ridges, as far as I can tell). Part # 1165752 (cast into bellhousing flange at back of engine). Looks like with some machine work ("boiling out" the passages, boring the cylinders, align-boring the main and cam bearings, decking the block, etc), that it could be put back into service quite handily...
Anyone needs it, $25.00, you come and pick it up (Marietta GA). It'd make a start of an interesting street rod engine, among other possibilities...
Regards,
Gordon.
