How are these for oldies but goodies?!

My father got this stuff years and years ago when he worked for a company in New York City. My parents never touched the stuff, but they would offer it to guests when they had small get-togethers at the house. At least I think that's what happened. I think pretty much all of this took place way before I was ever thought of, so my story could be a little off! LOL :D

Anyway, on with the booze pics...

Look at the date on this one...

And this one was never even opened!

PPFFFT. You want to see old. The paper seal on this bottle disintergrated. Foil seal is still intact. Unfortunately, what's gone was lost to evaporation—I've since tightened the top.http://206.225.95.32/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=15504&stc=1

Yeah, you've got me there. I like that little craddle it's in. That must be for when you get real drunk you don't have to worry about dropping the bottle, just tip it over! LOL

I have a bottle of 1929 Dom Perignon champagne that's still completely sealed, but has lost half its volume to evaporation through the cork. When I found it it had spent the better part of 20 years in a garage in Fresno, California, during summers that routinely hit 105+. Not exactly ideal storage conditions!

No booze in my house lasts more than a day or two!

When they make cognac, the stuff that evaporates during the aging process is called "the angels' share" :-)

Next time you make a salad and someone wants oil and vinegar dressing, use that champagne for the vinegar. That's all you've got now.

Just FYI, Jack in those days had a wooden cap with a cork under it. Like the Canadian Club.

It didn't have screw caps like in Animal House.

whiskey doesnt age in the bottle. On the other hand, youre 1966 bottle is probably ok to drink. Drink the stuff, its of no value otherwise.

And the stuff that vanishes off the loading dock is "the Hell's Angels" share. :uzi:

Mebbe not, mebbe so, I was given four never opened bottles of Wilson's "That's All" Whiskey from the 40s that when I finally opened them, were as smooth as a baby's bottom. I went through one of those a year until they were gone. I'm drinking a bottle of Glenfiddich 20 that's nice, but nowhere nears as smooth.
