The wife and daughter had taken grandma out to see a movie for Mother's Day just
about the time I got off of work.
So, best thing that I could think of to do was make my GW/Thrift store run! :naughty:
Didn't find much of anything at any of the stores... did find a book on classic American
automobiles for .99! :thmbsp:
Then I came to the last store on my run... I walk in to find a pretty beat up JVC JA-S22
integrated amp for $19.99... :scratch2:
But wait... what's this sitting next to the JVC??? :sigh:
It's a Professional Series "The Fisher" 440 receiver for $14.99!
I quickly grab it and look it over... it looks to be in very good condition... plugged it in
and she fired right up!
There is a name and SS# engraved in the back of the unit, but that's okay by me... :thmbsp:
I tuck the receiver under my arm and look the JVC amp over pretty good trying to
decide if I want it...
I decided to pass on it even tho it powered up and I heard the speaker relay click...
Which I'm glad I did, because when I rounded the corner, there were a very nice pair
of speakers sitting there...
Hmmmm... what's the brand name I wonder... :scratch2:
Well, bless my soul! They are Fisher XP-9s!
And lookie here... they have the same name and SS# as the receiver etched into them! :thmbsp:
And they're marked at $19.99 for the pair! :thmbsp:
Interesting thing was that there were patch cords wrapped up with the receiver's power cord
that were plugged into the receiver's tape in/out jacks...
Yes, I looked around for a R2R but didn't find one...
What's sad is since these are in such nice condition, makes me wonder if these were donated
from an elderly person's estate... :(
At least they will have great care! :music:
