There is a Harmon Kardon Citation 16 on ebay. It's fukking huge.

The bloke says it draws 1250 watts and it's output is 150x2.
Does anybody here have any experience with this amp.
Im curious about the specifications and if it draws that much power but only outputs 1/4th of that, is it possibly Class A output. It must have 20 TO-3 final outputs on the back of it.

Oh and of course, what's it worth if it is "Untested" or what's it worth since I'll have to fix the damn thing once it's here.

Thanks

Class A/B, using a quasi-complementary design. :boring: The power draw is nowhere near 1250W. Decent amp, but cheezy opamp input stage. The Citation 16A is a better amp (discrete front end instead of the lowly opamp), but seems to be pretty rare.

Give us the link. There is a 16 that the buyer claims is a 16A.

PS, moved thread to appropriate forum....

The model 16A runs class A up to 3 watts then AB. The units can be bridged
into mono. The power output then is 500 W@8 ohms and 320 W@16 ohms.
This was done by moving 4 internal jumper pins and 1 resistor. Had quite a
few years ago decent sounding amp. Their best sounding amp was the Citation XX

There are 3 versions of the Citation 16 amp that were made in 1975-79:
16 - this unit has a power switch and channel A & B red lights.
16A - same as the 16, but also features multicolor power meters with controls.
16B - same as the 16A but with a black faceplate and darker colored knobs and decorative name plate that all of the controls are on.

All 3 versions have the same output power and internal parts other than the power meters not featured on the base Citation 16.Wrongwrongwrongwrongwrong.....

Performance wise I would put this amp up there with Sunfire, carver, krell, mcintosh, marantz, Yamaha, pioneer elite, adcom, or higher end sony ES ampls like the TA-N1.Crack = bad for you. :nutz:
