The Roy Clark Guitar Spectacular!
Capitol ST2425 1965
:guitar:
I found this at a thriftstore the other day, finally got around to cleaning it and put it on the TT, This is a must have for any guitar fan whether you are a metalhead or a twangophile this has got to be one of the finest guitar albums I have ever had the pleasure of sitting through.
Any other Roy Clark recommendations would be appreciated.

If you can find a copy, Roy Clark & Gatemouth Brown did a record together around 1979. It's called "Makin' Music" and it's a Killer!!!

Another good one is Titled Roy Clark-Superpicker. It has a comic type drawing of Clark in s superhero costume flying on the cover, He had out a couple good Live albums out and of course the Yesterday when I Was Young album.

I am proud to say that one sunny day sometime back in the late 70's my Grandmother and I rode out to the farm where Roy Clark was I believe born and I know raised and sat on the front porch and drank leomonade with his parents. Kind of funny what I remember was a very humble country home. Nothing fancy at all. I think it was a farm. I remember his parents pointing out an older, delapidated, house not far from the new house and saying that it was the house Roy was raised in. Point is yeah they had upgraded from the old shotgun shack but they were not living in luxury at all in my recollection. I mean that was smack in the middle of Hee-Haw's heyday. You would think the whole family would have been living it up. The Clarks were very kind and humble folks, probably now deceased, who probably satisfied with the plain old home in NC or VA. I was young at the time so I didnt do the driving. We live on the border so it could have been either state. Anyway it was nice of them to invite some pesky strangers in for a cool drink on a warm day and talk about Roy. I wish I could remember more of the conversation. I didnt really care about Roy or Hee Haw at the time although I did like it when he would just sit on a stool and solo away like some kind of madman. I would rather stay up till 1 or 2 A.M. to see Kiss on Don Kirshners Rock Concert. NOW I wish I owned that cool Best Of Hee Haw D.V.D that I saw on a Roy Clark infomercial. Too bad so many of the cast have now passed on. Especially now with the loss of Buck Owens.

Geez time freaking weird!
