I just sold my seperates, a 5x110 Rotel 985THX Mk2 amp and a Marantz AV9000 still up on ebay now at 900 with 3 days left my reserve is 1000.00 so it will mostlikely make it.
My question is since I use this stuff only about once a month I am considering an Outlaw 1050 6.1 receiver with a M200 matching amp for my SVS 2039. Any comments on the Outlaw. I like the features for 5 bucks seems like a deal to me. . .
Anyone have this unit or experiences to share with me, my other choice is a HK 325-525. . . Thanks

Dang, gyusher, at the moment I 'misplaced' a link to a small cheap site that does ratings on equipment.
They basically stated that Outlaw was identical to a couple of other units costing quite a bit more ( I do love bargains, regardless of cost). I don't remember if it was the 1050 or not, but they really liked the unit they evaluated.
For what it's worth, if I was in the market for a better HT receiver, I would definately have Outlaw on my list. I don't recall any negative comments, and I believe they have a free trial period.
Nothing much to lose if you want to try it out. If you do get one for evaluation, I, for one, would be very interested in your findings.

OK, found the link:
Outlaw Processor (http://www.audioholics.com/productreviews/avhardware/clone_prepros.php)
Unfortunately, this is on the Outlaw 950 processor, but I believe it would have merit throughout their line.
Compared against identical (clones) Sherbourn and Atlantic Technology units.

I would wait and see, if you can. Outlaw is going to come out with a new receiver in the near future(maybe 6.1/7.1). I have had the 950 pre/pro and liked it but couldn't justify the price after losing my job, therefore it went back under their return policy.
The 950 is also made under the Sherborne and Atlantic Technologies name. The Amps are made by ATI, but the receiver is a mystery to me.

Well I'll tell you what I know. First off they are a small company and they don't design inhouse. At least some of their stuff is designed and built by ATI (amplifier technology inc.). This is the new company founded by Morris Kessler of SAE fame. When I visited Morris out in Montebello, CA. he showed me the optically isolated output amp he designed and was building for Outlaw Audio. It can handle a dead short across the output terminals. ATI also makes/made Adcom amps and of course their own line of gear.
On a separate note: their web design is a variation of a freeware template called green cresent.

Thanks for your comments. . I bought a Pioneer Elite VSX-45X I think. . . the 45 is right. . . 745 new in the box. . . I read the entire 120 page manuel this morning and bought it online from Ebay. . . . We shall see if this guy is straight up or not. I worried over that thing and finally after my Marantz sold for a good price I bought it.
I will still buy the Outlaw M-200 mono amp for my SVS unless I dont sell my big old Audio Centron amp thats running it now. My intention was to keep it simple with the Outlaw receiver and amp so my wife can use it without getting something out of whack. I figured that the Outlaw was due for a model change so I narrowed it down to a HK 525, a Marantz 7300ose, or this Pioneer just because of price. . . Now maybe some of you all can tell me what to expect from the Pioneer. . . Man it is gorgeous if nothing else. My only other experience with a "B" stock Pioneer was not good. At least this one is not "B" goods or a refurb, not against either as long as they work. . .
It appeared to me that this Pioneer would be fairly easy to set-up and it appears to have all the right features. . . I only hope I didnt step on my you know what. . . by buying it online like I did. . . Nothing ventured nothing gained. . . Still I doubt I will sleep much untill it gets here. I did use PayPal and paid extra for the money back garentee. . . Might get to see if thats any good as well. .
I like the two big knobs!
