Well, its not exactly vintage and it doesnt really fit into any one category. So I posted where I thought was most appropriate. Have any of you ever seen one of these before?

Just from looking it appears to be a laserdisc/dvd player/receiver, and computer all in one?

I don't really know.

I'd guess it a music server.
don't think it's a receiver because I don't see any speaker level outputs.
do I win?

I say it needs a wireless card... I could fiddle around with that sucker for many hours.

To me it looks like some old HTPC and AV pre-amp hybrid.
Lots of audio and video ins, printer port, graphics card etc

Maybe it's a pro karaoke machine.

I think the problem lies in the fact that it's exactly the same size as a bread box.

Let's just go with Pletho-source Digital Entertainment Command Center.

A PC is definetly involved since it has rs-232, USB, monitor, and what appears to be a sound card. What throws me is the printer port.

Scanner / Printer for Kodak picture CD's or similar? Even my little DVD does those & jpgs. Just a thought.

I didnt think about it being on ebay, found these pics on some site. I also read "Multimedia Home Theater" on the front as well. Did some googling and found this...

Its an interesting machine thats for sure. Almost wouldnt mind having it just for collectors sake. Not that its worth anything today...but back in 98 I imagine it was impressive. One thing I cant figure out if it is a laserdisc player as well. It seems to have the laserdisc tray?

233MHz Pentium MMX(TM) processor, 32 MB RAM, a 3.1 GB hard drive, and a 3.5" floppy drive plus a 33.6 KBPS modem. The DVD drive can also access CD-ROM's and ultimately DVD-ROM's. In addition to the programming software used to set up the DVX 8000, the computer is pre-loaded with Windows-95 among other entertainment-oriented software.
