And I must say that looking at a brand new glass on the front of my MC-2105 gives me major woodrow :D
But, here's a question for those of you who have done this before. My old face glass has strips attached with adhesive tape on it to give it the green color, along with a plastic plate with white blocks painted on where the lettering goes. I didn't attach either when I put the glass on, but it looks like it might need one or both. Since I can't tell what to do here (as I see there is adhesive tape holding pieces of different face glass pieces underneath where there are bubbles in the glass), what do I do, and what do I replace? I can't even say for certain that the plastic piece is original because it looks like it was painted for more than one set of lettering, and has more holes for controls that aren't there.
Any ideas fellow McIntosh fans? :)

Kam,
Now you got yourself over your head!! I repaired a MR-73 that Fedex did a number on last year, it wasn't a fun job. I used black cloth tape, similar to duct tape. I think I only used two long strips to hold the light diffuser in, I also used thin foam weather stripping as a light baffle, I'll see what pics of the job I have on file. PS - Fedex paid for damages, unlike UPS who hassles you until you give up trying to get anything out of them!! :)

I'm no tech, audio is just a hobby, or should I say obsession?? :)

Kam,
I dealt with a guy named Brian at Mcintosh in New York, real knowledgeable parts man, good thing is that they take credit cards over the phone! :)

Yeppers, that's where I got my 2105 glass. Time to whip out the card again :)
I just went thru the same thing with my new (to me) McIntosh MCD7008. :( The UPS (OOPS) guy dropped it on the front porch and while I am sure it took more hits than that on its way to me, the drop was the nail in the glass panels coffin. I called Audio Classics, who in turn contacted UPS, who in turn contacted me and they wanted to take the unit with them! No way bub! We arrived at a compromise with me taking several large digi-pix of the box, the damage, along with a detailed description of how it was packed, etc. Anyway, about four weeks later I got the replacement panel in and spent the better part of an afternoon nervously replacing it, transferring little masks and plastic bits from the old one to the new. It looks as good as new now! :) I have tried several CDP's in the past year or so. NAD, Marantz and a Sony SACD. The Mac has more detail and warmth than the others. It also has a remote-controlled volume control which I've hooked directly up to my Pass Aleph 30 single-ended amp. The system sounds awesome.

Celt, nice rack!Is it an antique table modified?
Alan
Thanks Opt-80. No, I bought a pair of them back in '85. They were made by Lane in Alta-Vista, VA and were intended to be used as end-tables. The build quality is first rate with all solid woods and they are very stable. The speakers were finished to match the table too.
