Found this article and thought some here would get a kick out of it. Others here may not like what they read if it hits to close to home.

Thats a good one Mark W, the ending was rather toutching, and I'm proud to say I don't think I'll ever get over it.We all accept the fact that we have the sickness, and keep collecting lol :thmbsp:

Collecting can become a sickness. You are fortunate when you recognise it and are able to pull back and put things in perspective.

Call me crazy, but I find it hard to believe that someone who prefers Starship over Airplane could summon the mental powers to start f***ing with electricity.

Priceless. Awsome read.
Thanks Mark

The author is not talking about himself but the poor bastard of which he writes. but that poor bastard may be a metaphor for himself.

I have a lot of albums and I do go to thrift stores and garage sales but more often than not I leave empty handed due to the horrible condition of the records or the lack of interest on my part of the artist and/or material.

As to the Starship/Airplane controversy, I like both incarnations as the Starship's material is different, with a different sound. Blows Against the Empire was a very good album and Surrealistic Pillow a masterpiece.

Thanks for sharing Mark!
Seems like I always see some freaky folks at the used LP shop myself from time to time

There is a serious licker around the corner from my house. I was running my dog and I glanced over into an opened garage door. It was nearly full of records. 4 high of two double side rows, 70% of the length of the garage. I was so shocked I didn't stop and say what the... There must be easily 20,000 LPs in there.

The Starship played at my company picnic last year. Mikey Thomas sounded awesome.
