I am looking for a pro logic receiver for my newly thought up plans for a home theater. I want one with both pre outputs and multichannel ins. This way I can add a dolby digital processor to it as well as power amps as I see fit. I will probably never use the pre outs but like to have them just in case. Now for my question. I have been looking at this pioneer.http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=9731649821&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1. As you can see it has jumpers, these can be taken out so you can use the connections right? As you see they are labeled as "pre out", and "power in". Is the "power inputs" the same as multichannel inputs found on todays receivers? Would I be able to connect a DD, DTS processor to the "power in" and it work?

Would it not make more sense to buy a modern receiver with the Dolby Digital and dts processers built in?

Well I already have a Dolby Digital processor that I use for my dvd and laserdisc player and I am very happy with it. Uses the Zoran chip and sounds great. I listen to more stereo than 5.1 movies that is why I am leaning more towards a pro logic receiver. They usually have more reserve power and usually much better at stereo play back than Dolby Digital, DTS receivers are.
