Fun name! Fun drink! :thmbsp:
Actually, an extraordinary drink. It's a new (to me, at least) high-end vodka from Holland. "Effen" is supposed to be Dutch for "smooth", according to our bartender at an Italian place the wife and I frequent and who turned us on to it, and man is it ever! Did a side by side against Grey Goose and Belvedere, beats 'em both hands down. The bottle itself is cool as well - has this non-slip white rubber sleeve around it with the labeling imprinted on it. good for wet bartending conditions or just plain old "hittin' it hard and straight", if that's your thing. One taste, well chilled, and you'll know why it's worth this kind of protecting. Good stuff, and makes one hell of a good martini.
Hard to find for sale, but did score a bottle a week or so ago as a gift for a friend (1 liter $35). We had a ball wisecracking about the name as we knocked it out by the shot at his birthday party. "Give me another Effen drink of that Effen vodka", etc. etc. :lmao: :drunk: :lmao: :drunk:
