I'm going to see if people will actually spend money on my photos of Maine. I have eighteen different images for sale (cheap!) at:

http://aquieteye.exposuremanager.com/g/a_quiet_eye

...but looking is free! Glenn Reynolds (the Instapundit) says the prints these folks produce are first-rate.

I'll load more images once I get my 'darkroom' computer back on line.

I like Milo Bridge, when it is printed does it have that grainy effect to the shot, or is that just the online pic?

Very grainy; I used Photoshop's 'crystallize' filter. This shot was taken with a point-and-shoot with a pretty undistinguished zoom lens, and 'crystallize' is a good way to emphasize masses (which is what this pic is about, anyway) where detail is lacking.

I mostly use Minolta SRTs, which have critically sharp lenses, but sometimes use lesser cameras to remind myself that it's not the equipment that counts. Then I scan the negatives at 4000 dpi and Photoshop the bejeesus out of everything.

Here's a closeup:

I'm in Corinna, not too far from you.

Anybody wanting to buy a print might want to hold off a day or two while I get the host site squared away; apparently I need to change a setting so that the images aren't cropped to fit the paper size and I'm waiting on instructions from the host site. I should have it done by tomorrow.

No Way.... I lived in Corinna for about a year back in 93-94... Up on the Horse Shoe road.. My uncle lived there for a few years..

I haven't been to Corinna since Eastland was taken down.. I don't get out much or at all actually, Hahaha..

Later, Brent

I spent most of my working years as a graphic artist- I wanted to say I enjoy your pics. They'd make excellent presents, for sure. Are they numbered and signed?

OK, the site is now up and running. There was a lot of confusion on my part about pricing and cropping but that's cleared up.

Delihaus - No numbers or signing, I'm afraid, the system isn't set up for them. If somebody wants to buy a print and send it along (with SASE) I'd be happy to sign it, though. My real world address is:

According to Exposure Manager: All print sizes are available in matte, glossy and lustre finish. All prints are full bleed. Our lab prints on Fujicolor Crystal Archive professional photographic paper using Fuji Frontier printers, processed through professional Fuji Hunt Chemicals. The archival quality of this process is 50+ years, before fading may occur.

I'll be posting more images shortly but at the moment I have a dismantled darkroom computer, a wife with a car with a busted muffler and an acre of wet lawn to mow.
