I do believe the esteemed OP is referring to the "AudioKarma Shop" sticky, in this forum. Here (http://www.audiokarma.org/forums/showthread.php?t=2521).

Or, I could be wrong.

Please note that my Audiokarma Shop features product lines that I typically offer to AK members at "extra-special" pricing. And this is why you will not find Yamamoto Sound Craft listed there - Yamamoto gear is almost never discounted.

But rest assured that I will continue to import and sell Yamamoto Sound Craft electronics and accessories! :D

Uhhhh, I believe the correct answer to the question would be,

"You ARE getting an extra special discount. Brian is selling directly importer-to-consumer, which spares you paying the mark-up necessary to keep a dealer breathing!"

Neither picking on nor lauding any particular distribution model, just noting a fact.

At 'round about $3k, the A08S is a musical brain-bender.

Thanks for chiming in, Dave! And yes, you're right: By cutting out the "middle man" and trying to keep Yamamoto's U.S. pricing as close to the company's factory-direct Japanese pricing as possible, I think I'm making the cost of these products VERY reasonable over here. The downside, of course, is that my own profit margin on Yamamoto gear is about half of what it is for every other line that I sell as a regular dealer, which is why I do not discount these products...
