Brian,
As you know, I was hell bent on a Music Hall MMF5. I got this Fons TT and if I can con(just kidding) my friend into selling it to me I would be thinking about something a little better. The MMF7 looks good, but I noticed that you picked up some other lines. The AudioNote TT looks nice too, but there are no prices on your site. Anything to recommend in the MMF7 range?
thanks

Hi millerdog,

Well, the MMF-7 is very difficult to beat in its price range. It is built by the same folks who make the excellent Pro-Ject turntables, but the Music Hall line offers a lot more bang for the buck, in my opinion.

The retail cost of the entry-level Audio Note turntable/tonearm combo (sans cartridge) is $1125. This rig sounds a bit more extended up on top and offers better detail retrieval than the MMF-7. In contrast, the MMF-7 sounds a bit smoother, and has a fuller-sounding bass. For fans of folk, jazz, and classical music, I would probably recommend the Audio Note package over the MMF-7. However, if rock and roll constitutes a healthy part of your musical diet, then the MMF-7 just might be the way to go.

Hope this helps!
Brian

Thanks Brian!
That helps alot. Now if I can only finish this commissioned tile project I got by the end of summer, I may just rock the MMF7:)
