Is there a set of Klipsch speakers that would be a great match for the SX-1250? I like to listen to my music very loud so they will need to hold up. 8 ohms is a must also.

Thanks Tim :music:

I never had any luck with my Heritage series (Heresey I) with SS amps. Ended up selling mine. I tried with both vintage Sansui (160 watt/ch) integrated and an Adcom based rig (GFA-5800 250 watt/ch). Been told that a good 30-50 watt ch tube amp is the way to go.

I use a pair of Belles with no problem.

My Heresys (I), Quartets, Klipschorns, RB-5s, kg2s, Academy, KSF-S5s, KSB 1.1s ALL sound nice with SS gear (Nakamichi, Outlaw Audio, McIntosh, Yamaha) but I prefer them now with Tubes (except my Home Theater)...good luck and enjoy!

Tim...you're a handy guy. Build your own Behemoth speakers... :zoom:

If you must go Heritage Klipsch, then SS gear is not likely the best match, though there are some exceptions. The newer Klipsch gear mates quite nicely with SS. I own RF-3's, RB-5's and RF-7's, and all sound great with a variety of SS gear that I've had/have.

I have Kg4.2's, ca. 1991, they sound pretty good. Never tried the 1250 with any other Klipsches though. All I know is the 1250 drives em way better than my HT receiver did!

My experience was similar. My SX-850 gave plenty of low end punch on the Forte's, but I couldn't tone down the sibilance. I got a tube amp to remedy the problem, though. I can't believe what I'm hearing through this great old stuff!

I was using my Yammie AV receiver to drive my Cornwalls, this worked ok at moderate levels but when cranked the mids and highs became harsh.

I'm now using the Yammie as a Pre amp and the amp from my Pioneer SX 5580 (Euro version of a SX-1050). This has really warmed up the sound, I'm happy with this combination.

Haven't had a chance to listen to a tube amp yet... still looking.
