I'm sure that this question has been asked before but a quick search didn't turn up an answer.
I just ordered a new subwoofer and while I'm awaiting its arrival I'm trying to decide on a patch cable. I need about a 10'-12' length and searching around have found that these run any where from a few bucks to several hundred. Well, I was at a discount store yesterday and noticed that they had quad-shielded RG-6U cable patch cords with an 18 gauge center conductor and F connectors for about $12. I've already got a couple of gold-plated F-to-RCA adapters laying around and was wondering about trying this cable/adapter set-up for the subwoofer.
Is there something inherently wrong with using this from a technical/audio standpoint that I'm missing? Should a buy the RG-6U cable and try it or just pass and move on?
Any input/direction/thoughts would be appreciated. And, again, sorry if this is a stupid question or one that has been asked a hundred times...
Thanks.
