What questions should I be asking the seller in regards to this particular speaker? They're located kinda far away, want to make sure the drive is worth it.

you want to be sure the drivers are original, and that they havent been replaced with PylePro Audio or the like...

copy the pics from the ebay auction and send them to the seller, see if the drivers are the same as his, or ask him if he'll provide pics for you. :)

Just waiting to hear back from seller at this point. Doesn't he say drivers were "repaired"? Maybe refoamed.

I'm the type that doesn't mind spending extra to get original drivers. I like stock components and will pay a premium.

Those look like two different drivers. The ones on the left side of the pic are probably the originals, right?

Don't worry, I'll ask! Ended up getting a extra $30 off my AR-3a's ($270 local) with a bit of bargaining... never hurts to try ;)

If the tweeters are the 077's and working and any of the other components are original, run, don't walk! Get them!!!! Now!!!! The drivers can be found pretty cheaply and the woofers refoamed. You're looking at over $1000.00 in speakers alone if they're original and they work! Even if you have to replace a woofer or a driver, that's a flat out steal! Do a address check on the phone number and drive over there... ASAP. Chances are that if they are listed too long, people start offering more over the phone, then you're cooked! Seller writes he believes speakers are sold. Have asked him to call immediately if there's any chance they're still available or something falls through.

I don't know how I missed these yesterday when they were first posted. Oh well, still hoping for something, but it's not looking good.

Ahh.. no sweat! I frequently check CL, but even though I wasn't familiar with these speakers I probably would have posted about them here first just to see if they were worth the time. Most of the stuff on the Dallas CL is total junk/overpriced.

I'm real serious about audio, and have a great main system. Thanks to this board, I'm having fun finding gear 'on the cheap' for my second/third systems. I really enjoy this place, keep it up!

Yep, seller confirms speakers are gone. Maybe another AK'er?
