Marantz 5420 ???????

I have 2 Marantz 5420 tape decks. One of them as a round switch on the rear plate for dual voltage but has the american style cord/plug....Is this a rare model or did they make a ton of them for overseas markets and this one just happened to be brought back .....thanks :scratch2:

I don't think this is an export unit that returned "home." I've seen this on other Marantz gear- two units with the same model #, and one has the voltage selector. Maybe Marantz added this feature and then removed it again? Or perhaps it was required for some states and not others (such as all those GM cars that were offered with different engine choices in California compared to the rest of the country). Just a thought.
