Luxman P-100

I just received shipment of a new (to me) P-100. Despite rather shabby packaging it arrived relatively intact. A nut from one of the screws holding the head in place was missing and, unfortunately, the stylus either broke in shipping or was not there when it left the seller. The description clearly stated that the needle was in good condition.

I emailed the seller but also checked the cost of a replacement. The cartridge is an Audio Technica LS580/LT. A quick search found a replacement for $45. OUCH!

Any ideas where I might find a less expensive source.

It is EXTREMELY difficult to ship a turntable in anything other than the original carton without damaging it. Given the damages you have outlined, plus the poor packing, I would expect other problems, currently latent, to show up later on.

I would demand a refund of my money and send it back.
