I recently bought a Marantz TA100 (http://audiokarma.org/forums/showthread.php?t=69330&highlight=marantz) from merrylander. I'm quite pleased with the sound and power of it. However, for headphone use it's not ideal.
Now, I only have one source which is an older Denon CDP which will soon be upgraded to a Sony SCD-CE595. What I'm thinking of doing is putting a Little Dot II+ (http://www.little-tube.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=31&PN=1) between the Sony changer and my receiver. That way I can have good headphone output and use the tube amp as a line stage. The TA100 doesn't have a pre-out or main in port, do you guys think this would matter much? I know that I would still be going through the preamp in the TA100, would the Little Dot possibly overload that? Anyone have any thoughts?
Oh, and my interconnects are DIY Canare Starquad RCA cables.
