Paulie Cerra - Vocals, Saxophones

A good friend up in Seattle dropped me an email. He said, "Paul, you have GOT to get this CD by a guy named Paulie Cerra, A Sliver of the Moon. Look him up on the web and listen to some clips."

I found Cerra on my favorite CD site, CDbaby.com along with the clips. 15 seconds of listening had me hitting the order button!

Paulie Cerra plays MY KINDA MUSIC... when I die and go to Heaven I wanna play in his band! Take me home, Baby! My favorite track is a slow gospelly tune, Ray Charles-ish... "Nice To Be Home Again". This is classic Rhythm & Blues, Memphis/New Orleans Honky-Tonk, red beans & rice with cornbread washed down with plenty of cold brew on tap, kinda music.

On all the tunes Cerra's rich voice is great, and include some hip horn arrangements by Lee Thornburg--yes, THE Lee Thornburg. Some of the best LA musicians are playing on this CD. Cerra also wrote 5 of the 9 tunes, cowrote one.

Paulie Cerra not only sings his heart out for us, but plays some great honky-tonk saxophone, too. Listen to Paulie at:
