Need a tach for a new project. Not picky as long as the price is right and its all complete. Would prefer it to be 2-3" face. No room for any monster size ones.
Also would take older under dash gauge cluster with temp and oil pressure. If you have either of these let me know. Thanks

Mechanical or electrical senders? The ones in the pic are mechanical, Dave.

I have an old Sun Tach back from my muscle car days (70's) that I'll dig out and send you a pm on and I think I have a mechanical under dash cluster set too. I'll check tonight when I get home.

I have only installed on tach in my life so which do you think is the easiest. The one i did was a one wire hook up to the coil if i recall. Not sure how oil pressure and water temps done.

I've never done the water temp senders, but the oil ones aren't hard. If the oil guage is mechanical (actually fed with oil) you just put a fitting that the little hose of the guage clamps into, in place of the old idiot light oil sender. YOu can use a t-fitting in addition if you want to use both the light and the guage (but why?)
The electrical oil pressure guage is even easier. Just pull your old oil pressure sender out, and replace it with the electrical unit. Then feed the wire to the guage inside the car from the sender.
The only problem I have ever run into with this was the new sender didn't fit in my big oil pressure sender threads. Parts or hardware stores will usually have adapters to remedy this problem.

Dave I have a set of these that were cheap like 200.00 if you need a whole set. I actually got a nice gm style wiring harness from them too.
just posted it in case you decide to do a whole package instead of piecing it out.
I have a moody temp gauge out in the goody box. if you want it.
on a oil pressure gauge a mechanical is said to be more accurate but I prefer the electrical. On the tack it depends on the dizzy you are using.
what car are you putting it into? curious.

Wow that cluster is way cool but would be way outta place in my new project.
Really just looking for something to do the job no muss no fuss and no high cost. Its going to get muddy so preferably not shiny so no cleaning :)
The Distributer will be upgraded to an HEI soon as it comes in from back order. Thanks

I have an older 3 gauge cluster from about 1980 that I never got around to installing. Each gauge is about 3". It's yours if you still need one. I could e-mail you some pictures if that would help.

Sorry about the delay Grumpy. It's a Sun brand gauge cluster. It's got temperature, oil pressure, and amp gauges. The unit itself is about 7"x3" and each gauge is about 2". As far as I can tell, I have everything you need to install it including the instructions. It's in perfect shape since it was never installed. Been sitting in a box for twenty years. I think it's got your name on it! Just let me know where to send it and it's yours.
