DOes anyone know what might be the problem with my Luxman PD 277 ? It is an automactic and all that works fine, but the platter wont spin, it seems to want to for a split second, but that's about all. Could it be the motor, or is it something more simple ? (I Hope) ANy help is appreciated :yes:

Is the unwillingness to spin related to the automatic mechanism? There might be a cam or lever or gear that is binding, and so the platter can't rotate. If you turn it by hand, does the arm do its thing properly, and without needing much force? And if its a belt drive, is the belt mounted properly?

It's a direct drive turntable. Does it turn freely by hand? If so, when powered up, and it starts to turn, if you give it a little nudge, will it turn some more?
