I' had read a few archived posts on the Goldring GR1, which came out in 2004. I can't believe how good this table sounds on my Technics SU-X501. It is so quiet and warm sounding... the standard Goldring Elektra cart tracks beautifully. My last TT was a Technics Sl-7, direct drive, linear tracker, so I've gone from one extreme to the other in terms of operation. I guess what i'm trying to say is the rega 250 arm on it and the super basic belt drive assembly has openend up my ears. Just listened to Crosby Stills Nash and Young's "Find the cost of freedom" about seven times in a row... I can hear every detail in each voice... I'm too scared to test out my shure cartridge on it (or too lazy) because everythings aligned perfectly. There, had my gush!!! :music:
