Another new addition to the test roles.
Omer from OZ has offered up a pair of Unity Solid Link Speaker Cables for Y'all to try out. I am giving them a break-in listen now, and so far they sound pretty darn good. Really beautifully made also.
He says of them:
Solid Link consists of high purity solid core copper conductors in a Litz configuration. Each conductor is insulated with PVC, and PVC outer jacket. Outer jacket is gold/black Techflex to resist abraison, and looks great!
Positive leg of the cable is a 13awg, the negative leg is 15awg.
Highly recomended for tube gear.
Usual test rules apply.
Signed up are:
1)Wineslob
2) Gary P
3) Tripqzon

These are some really fine speaker cables. Surprised no one has signed up yet.

Positive leg of the cable is a 13awg, the negative leg is 15awg. I don't understand. What is the reason for them to be a different size? :scratch2:
If this isn't the place for Q&A about them, just say so. I will find another place to pose the question.

This certainly is the place!
I will find out from Omer and let you know.
Thanks

Hi Gary
They are right around 10 feet, I think.

Hi Paul
Easiest thing in the world. Just go through the posts, find the various equipment (as little or as much as you want) and I will add you to the list. Then, whenever your turn comes up, the guy before you on the list mails them to you. You listen to the for about 2 weeks or so, and then mail them to the next guy. All it costs you is shipping one way.
Most importantly, make sure you write a review of your experiences with whatever you are testing. Good, bad or indifferent doesn't matter. Just let us know your honest views about whatever it was.
Pretty easy, I think.
Interested? :)

When this model was in the prototype stage, this was a variant of the recipe that worked really well. It sounded better - to my ears - than using the same gauge for both legs, so that's what went to production. So far, all who have purchased this model are very happy with the results. We even have one customer who ended up selling his $1000 NBS cables! :music:

Thanks Bigerik, can you itemize the other cables you have on hand for the membership to try out?

I'd love to try these cables with my tiny triode monoblocks. Please add me to the list.
Or perhaps a new thread should be started for the interconnects, since this thread is for speaker cables?

This was an interesting test since I have finally settled on my speakers (Tannoy Berkeley). I took a nice long time with these (sorry, guys) as I am in the final stages of getting my "perfect" system together.
I played my usual CD's.... some DCC golds (Nat King Cole, Linda Ronstadt, etc.), others that I know very well such as the Canadian version of Who's Next, etc. I guess I should have spun some more vinyl but the only thing that was on 'repeat' was the new Yes / Fragile LP. Oh well....
Well, well, well. I think these are even better than my Anti-Cables, the previous champs in my system!!
I've also have had Kimber TC8 (I think that's what they were called - or 8TC?) I tried Monster (all copper), DH Labs (copper coated with silver), The Chord Company (copper), Vampire (16 gage copper) and... ummm... something else. And the Anti-Cables. :D
Compared to the Anti-Cables, the imaging is better, the guitars, voices, etc (i.e.: everything) seem more life-like. A very pleasing sound!
How do they do it? I dunno.... but you'll be happy with the results! I certainly was!!!!
Many thanks for sharing your impressions, I'm flattered at your comparison to the Anti-Cables.

Tripqzon, I believe that Wineslob might be next on the list.... BigErik, can you confirm who is supposed to get them?

Yup, wineslob is nest. Technicaly should have been before Gary, but it did not make a lot of sense to send them to the US and then back to Canada again. I will add any other interested parties to the list.
Oh, and while I have yet to post my review, I must say that I agree with Gary that these are VERY nice!
Thanks
