Has anybody heard the KM-4s??? I believe they're supposed to be nearly identical to kg 3.5s but were made for the Military only market in black oak vinyl only...any thoughts???...on either the KM-4 or the kg 3.5s?...how do they compare to Heresys or Quartets...other Klipsch Speakers???
thanks,
Bill

While I don’t have experience with the KM4’s, I did buy a trio of KM6’s and they are the same as the 5.5’s. I would still have them but I gave a pair to my brother who uses them on his Main system. These definitely were made especially for the military (I bought 3 at a truckload sale). The only difference is that they were black vinyl only.
I still have one that I use as a center channel with a set of Belle’s which it does the job nicely.

I bought mine at a sale for 250 a piece. The cabs seemed
the same as the 5.5's( the vinyl ones anyway).
I didn't have the cash or I would've bought two more.

arrived yesterday..."expertly packaged" by UPS Store...every corner damaged and chunks knocked out of the speaker...seller is sick as he had these while in the Military and they survived overseas and at his house before UPS ruined them...sad to say for me too...I hate to see something make it so long mint to get damaged by goons who don't care about their jobs...seller has been great and started all the paperwork on his end...understandably upset...both he and me.

Dang, Sorry to hear about that Bill, Hopefully they were insured and retribution can be realized. Were they expertly packed and really thrown around? or was the packing poor and the damage shows it? :thumbsdn:

sorry...atempt at sarcasm...packed by the UPS store itself...boxes a bit larger than the speakers themselves...speakers wraped in a sheet of small bubblewrap...a couple of air pillows in one of the boxes...speakers could freely move around during shipping...boxes a thinwalled corrugated cardboard...only one sign of a crumpled corner on one box...inside...speaker corners and edges crushed and broken...pressure divots all over the place...sad...thanks for the kind thoughts...seller is beside himself and told me the police were nearly called at the UPS store when he went in to complain...

The police should have been brought in to arrest the owner of the ups store. They basically stole time and money from Bill and the seller. I hope somebody stands behind you guys. Keep us informed Bill.

I saw the pics of how they were packed over at the klipsch forum Bill :thumbsdn: . Made me sick to say the least.
I doubt after seeing those pics I could ever buy a set of speakers that had to be shipped. I truly hope you and the seller can come to a fair agreement for both of you. I don't think I would want them with banged up corners either.
