I've been lurking for a while, but thought I'd finally show my face. :puke: Hey... c'mon - that's not nice!!! :D
Anyways, here's my toys - this is my first attempt at HT. We're planning on building a house in a year or two - that one will get a dedicated HT.
Here's the laundry list...
Mits 65809 widescreen HDTV
Mits DD-8020 DVD player
Mits HS-U747 S-VHS VCR
Integra DTR-5.2 receiver
Integra CDC-3.1 CD changer
Paradigm Monitor 7v2's
Paradigm CC-370
Paradigm Mini Monitors
Klipsch KSW-150 sub (hopefully to be replaced by an SVS PB2-Plus sometime soon)
Playstation 2
TWC w/3100HD box
All IXOS cabling
The pic is a bit old, but the gear is all there.

And here's a view from a distance...
The walls aren't quite so barren - now there's paintings for the sub to rattle. :D

You wouldn't happen to be the MrSquid I know from the Element forums?

Thanks for the welcomes. :D
The rack is made by Powell Furniture. It came from a local Best Buy-ish store (http://www.americantv.com/elec/e_detail.html?xid=1057850394629830&sku=534021217). The thing is an absolute tank - it was a real beast to move EMPTY, much less full. The next one is going to be an AV Trak from AV Rak (http://www.avrak.com/).
Tim, if you find more than one MrSquid, let me know and I'll run him over with my E. :D
Funky 70's looking pad man! Cool stuff!

Like your place and set up. I love glass too but don't have much of it out because of cats.
That a McCormick Bourbon Elvis?

John Lennon, actually. Not sure on the details of it though. My wife's grandfather collected all sorts of casks (?) like this, and this is one that she choose after he died.
Something I didn't note in my original post, and I feel that I should, is that this room is my basement. (I'm a proud guy, having done all the work myself:D)

nice looking set-up MrSquid.
that is one huge Tv!
Would you mind if Bots sends a copy of your system thread to the gallery forum too?
So, you've got this nice audio/HT system set up...which do you find that you use the most? Music or HT.

It's actually not much bigger than yours (in theory) but in person, the cabinet makes the 65" looks like a whale of a beast compared to the 55". (I've the 65809)

Don't mind at all.

We use it more for movies than music. Since this is my basement, we're typically usually only down there for a reason - and that's either to watch TV or movies.
If I do listen to music down here, it's typically off of Music Choice on digital cable. In fact, my CD changer went kaput on me around Christmas, and I still haven't done anything to fix that yet. My DVD player and receiver will do DVD-Audio, but after almost two years, I've yet to pick up a single DVD-Audio disc yet.

Your DVD should play regular CDs quite nicely as well. Just pull the menu up and set it for 2 Ch and you will get stereo intead of surround. DVD players have been very good about having at least a 24/96 or better chip in them for years and it often will take a pretty high dollar CDP and DAC to out perform one.
I used to work for a small liquor wholesaler on the wine side that handled McCormick and saw some very nice figural decanters including Elvis. I never did see a Lennon one though. Great choice!!

That it does. I didn't even want to buy the CD changer - that was my wife's call. Oh well -- without it there'd be an empty hole in my rack that I'd probably end up wanting to fill with something that's way more expensive than my wallet will allow. ;)
