Picked up three! JBL 2213's at the post office this morning. They look great, the recones look first rate (but they used black cones and foam surrounds :( )
Now, if I start feeling a bit better soon (allergies just slammin' this morning) I'll swap the little JBL auto subs out and put these big guys in.
I admit I'm a sucker for a nice, hefty cast frame and large motor/magnet structure :D
Now the cabinets will really be 2/3 JBL! The Pioneer tweets I think are 'better' than the LE25, but I have been beatin' the bushes lookin' for a pair of the JBL's.
Mebbe the D123A's WILL be found and delivered now that I've got a surplus of excellent woofer drivers.
I'm still waiting for the four Metra woofers (yes, the same Metra that makes the excellent wiring harnesses and acc's for mobile sound systems).
Got an idea for doing a chimney kinda thing, mount them facing each other, use the whole basement as an infinite baffle. Do it like in modules, or with the capacity to add other drivers (well, I do have a bunch of quality woofers here to play with). One of the crazy guys at Stereo Review did that and wrote a great story on it in the magazine a few?? years ago. He ducted the output up into his listening room. I KNOW I still have that issue somewhere here.

Got one 2213 mounted. Made the cabinet quite a bit heavier than with the JBL stamped-frame autosound woofer.
A very tight fit. Couple of the t-nuts are loose, dang, that will need to be taken care of, too.
Now I'll go back down and do the other one. But the Golden Palominos sound pretty good through the G-9700 comin' out the L100 Frankenspeakers.

Have just got the second L100 swapped to the 2213.
Put a Cranberries cd on, well, y'know that first track starts quiet then SLAMS, well, with the G-9700 ALL the LEDs lit up, 200+ watts to each speaker.
That wasn't even to where the vol sez "40" or about 10 o'clock.
To use thoots' refrain, "dynamic"! :D

I really like that G-9700, too. Just a fine piece of gear.
