Hey, Just got back from seeing Sonny Landreth in Kingsport,TN at their twilight live concert downtown. I have heard some scetches of him playing with other people but never his own material. He was fantastic! very tasteful player with a lot of techniques I have never seen before. I was very pleased. I bought a copy of his newest live cd called Grant Street. I havent got a chance to listen yet but cant wait! I have a copy of Goverment Mules cd from the deep end and he plays on a song and does several solo breaks, very great player, what do you all think. Mike

As fine a slide guitar player as there is anywhere. I prefer him in a backing role, though- in a front-man role, his voice gets to me after a couple of songs.

Good guitar. I think he's pretty young or, when I bought my first cd of him he was young. Didn't he come out of Austin?

Not all that young, and a native of Louisiana.

I like his playing quite a bit and agree that his vocals are not, perhaps, as strong as his guitar playing. I like his solo work, nonetheless, and would like to see him live one of these days.
