I have quite a few, and recently picked up another. Firestarter. Composed and performed by Tangerine Dream. What an amazing album. Anyone else heard this soundtrack LP.
The sonics are all over the place  I had to switch off my dittons due to the bass in many of the tracks. If you haven't heard this LP I suggest you give it a try.
Curious to hear about Soundtrack LP's that have suprised you guys.

Tangerine Dream has always been a quality listen. Those guys understood the meaning of sonic and used it wisely without over doing it.

Try the soundtrack to "country" on Windham Hill for some great sonics.

Oh yeah, I recently got that "Country" LP and haven't listened to it yet. I will now. Older Windham Hill is great. Tangerine Dream did some or a lot of the soundtrack for the early 80s "Risky Business". So hard to find that on LP.

I'm a closet John Williams fanatic. Guess I just 'came out of the closet', eh?
I love Jurassic Park and Close Encounters of the Third Kind.

For Tangerine Dream, "Thief" ain't bad either. Not a bad movie, too.
On the soundtrack note, I really have enjoyed my LP copy of "In The Shadow Of The Sun" by Throbbing Gristle. I've had for 20+ years and still love it.

Mahoney's Last Stand by Ron Wood & Ronnie Lane. Never seen the movie, but the soundtrack has the aforementioned Ronnies, plus Rick Grech, Steve Winwood, Kenny Jones, Pete Townshend, Ian McLagen, Bobby Keys, etc.
A fun listen. These guys musta been crocked throughout, it's not the most cohesive and well-produced record I've heard, you can tell they were having a good time. Musta been what a Faces rehearsal would've sounded like if Rodney didn't show up. If you like Clapton's Rainbow Concert in all its ragged glory you'll love this. It's mostly the same people anyway.
And though it technically isn't a "movie", the soundtrack to "Hail,Hail Rock 'n' Roll"-Chuck Berry's 60th birthday concert (produced by Keith) is something I recently came across and would recommend. OK, back to Tangerine Dream and New/Old Age. I love Windham stuff too, except for those @#$%*!! plastic LP sleeves.
