I just picked up an interesting receiver. It is a Marantz Model 29 with short/long wave radio along with FM. All I know about it is that it was designed in the USA and manufactured in Japan for the German market. It is a 240 VAC but can be re-wired for 120 I believe. It is cute as hell and in incredible condition cosmetically. Apparantly it is a X-Rare Model. I searched all over and have not been able to find out much info on this one. I don't think too many of these were made. Any help would be appreciated.

Well it is of course listed on Ben's classic audio site:

Not sure there are any commerical long wave stations left in the US other then Navy or navagation bencons. Still a cool collectors item to hang on to.

Yes, the Classic-Audio source is where I received the little info I have. I have not been able to find out anymore about it from any other source.

This is the 1st Japanese series and made by Standard Radio. Not really sure if any of the electronics was designed in the US or only the packaging, i.e. faceplate, Gyro tuning, and the like.
