View Full Version : Tech Questionon a DVD Player

Hello there I am not shure if this is the place to ask this .I own a Pioneer DVD Model DV-414 Player and it Powers up ok but the lil screen read out in the front says "Flashes SUM" any one knows what this means or how to fix this problem // :tears:
Please Help Thank You

It is probably a problem with the EPROM or the CPU. You could try resetting the software by holding in the STOP button while turning on the power to the unit. If that doesn't work it sounds like the EPROM is corrupt or the CPU is bad.

Not sure if it is possible to re flash the EPROM with some new firmware. Maybe contact Pioneer?

By the way...I am assuming the player does nothing other that show the Flash SUM message?

:scratch2: wellI got this at a yard sale for $5 and I did not get any thing with it i needed an xtra dvd player so itook achance I will try what you suggested and it does nothing but flash the "fash sum "Thank You so Much ill post another reply
