Hey all. I wanted to post some pictures of my trip to the small, but cool, Klipsch museum in Hope Arkansas from my weekend trip. I had to go to Conway to work a Car Audio promo for one of my dealers and since the museum is only open Monday thru Friday, I stopped. Last time I drove that way, it was Saturday and they were closed. The pictures aren't hi-rez but they give a general idea for those of you who haven't been there. I went to the actual factory back in 1976 or so which was a lot more fun! They used to do tours. I had an uncle who owned an unbelievable cabinet shop and had most every wood working tool known to man. At 14, we got the plans and built a pair of LaScala's with the actual EV drivers. It took a lot of yard mowing money to buy all of those but I did!

Let me know the best way to show these. Whether they be on here or somewhere else. There are about 25 pics or so.

That's what I need to know, though! What's the best way to show them? Some of them are larger than the forum will allow to show!

I'm just a smart@$$, or in this case dumb@$$. I usually resize with the software that came with my digital camera and then post. 5 pics/post should take about 5 posts to get them all up. Can't wait.

Here we go. I'm going to drop 5 pics in at a time. I looked at the size of most of them and they aren't big. Others are so I will get those last ones in as I can. I will try to write a little about each 5 that I've posted to give you an idea. Excuse some of the pics not being that great because I was having to take pictures thru large windows into Paul W. Klipsch's office. They keep it locked the majority of the time and I really don't think they knew where the keys were!

The first 4 pics are looking thru into his office. Picture 5 is an old corner horn known as the "Valerie".

Enjoy....

Hope you enjoyed seeing these. Sorry I couldn't get more detailed pics. I can always go by again when I get the new camera.

Thanks. I will probably never see it any other way. I can't believe they don't have some kinda listening room setup. That and the guy standing on the Heresy writing on the wall, hope he put something down to protect the bottom first.

When I was at the museum a few years ago they had several BIG RCA and WE theater horn setups and LOTS of Voight-Lowther stuff.

I think they do that when they have advertised "get togethers" there. At least I read that somewhere.

Sure looks a lot nicer than the Factory Museum at the plant. Seems as though there's some friction between the two, sadly.

Where's the plant now? Is it up north where the new owners are or is it still in Arkansas somewhere?

Klipsch

137 County Road 278

Hope, AR 71801

The plant manufacturers the Reference, Heritage and Pro lines. Still very much in operation. Located north of town. They have a very nice museum, worth seeing. The museum is the second building Klipsch used to build his speakers.

Check out this vintage picture of the Klipsch factory. Found online. Same doorway as seen in the current picture above!

Thanks for posting all of the photos. It was a fun time in Hope. I didn't get the chance to see Miss Valerie's little museum while we were down there. Thanks to your photos, I now at least have a feel for what it was like. The trip was an excellent time and well worth all that driving. -Glenn
