well, it seems that the asshat seller that sold this 2252B to me glued peices that were falling off together so they'd be fine for the first few weeks that i had it. Now, the source selector pulls out easilly, the loudness button does also, and once i looked inside, he had broken the tabs that held the fuse lamp plastic cover in place, and had to glue it in place, so when i changed the lights that were dead on arrival, i had to glue it back in place myself.

How do i keep atleast the source selector, and the loudness button in place? I dont care if i have to grab some gorilla glue, as long as it does not hinder the operation of the switch. the loudness button can stay in permanently, but i'd like to have some sort of way of removing the source selector knob if i ever need to remove the face.

If the knob cover is coming off the plastic insert, just use a small dab of glue. If the centre of the insert is worn, where it fits over the shaft, you can wrap the shaft with one or two layers of very thin paper. I used tracing paper. Make sure that it starts beyond the end of the knob. Press the surplus down, and slide the knob over the paper. It should make all the difference.

The paper trick works fine and those little tabs breaking off is typical.

For the loudness button, if the shaft of the switch is broken off, use JB Weld to glue it back on. Just don't get any glue on the spring.

Teflon thread tape works good around the shaft splines and allows the knobs to be pulled off easily when needed.
