It doesn't look like the seller is going to help me, so I spent three hours cleaning and straightening the face.
The bulbs will arrive next week, so only half a tuner section lit for now.
Here is the post with the pics of it damaged. (http://audiokarma.org/forums/showpost.php?p=797299&postcount=1)
Let me know whatcha think compared to what it did look like.
A generous member here is going to help me get a new cover for it.
Here it is after TLC(nevermind the cover).

Ouch!!!!
I was able to pound out that kind of damage to the case very carefully with a hammer. No one could tell there was any damage by the time it was done.

So, just to complete the post - the link given above for pictures showing how it looked like before didn't work for me. If I'm right, you meant to link this page (http://s15.photobucket.com/albums/a368/alexkerhead/) , didn't you?
So...Well done! :thmbsp: Looks lovely now.

Thanks.
The new restriction on attachments forced me to delete 6.8MB of mine, nearly everything, seeing as my images are 100KB each.
I apologize.
I will see what I can do about getting some of those images.

I still have a good supply of the exact replacements for the 2270 if you have trouble getting the lamps, Dave.

I may have to talk with you about some of those blue surrounds for the meters bulbs on my 2270 and 2265B hehe.
Do you recommend removing the opaque paper?

The paper, called 'vellum', is the diffuser that gives the nice even glow to the light. EchoWars posted about that. He may still have a sheet or two left, so it's worth inquiring about it.

Alrighty, just checking, the paper in my receivers is fine, but I was curious if removing it would give it a brighter glow.

Replacing the 30-year-old stuff, with new, will restore the 'blue light' for which Marantz became so well-known. The vellum oxidizes over the years. If it turns a little yellow or brown, it gives the Marantz display a greeninsh tinge. New vellum will restore the true blue to the dial display. My 2252B never looked better.

You should be able to pound that out between a couple of hardwood blocks. I've fixed much worse damage on metalworking issues.

Thanks for the tip.
I was wondering why it seemed less blue than other people's.
