White 2 door, 196 Cast Iron OHV inline 6, borg/warner M35 automatic, manual steering, manual brakes, 117747 on the clock with less than 10k on a rebuilt motor and trans . Car could use a new coat of paint, rear floor mats, and a cable for the heater control, but other than that just about everything has been rebuilt or replaced including:

front end
suspension
rebuilt motor
new cylinder head and larger valves
fuel pump
carburetor
braking system
tires
washer fluid container
radiator

Previous owner pulled out some dings on the right fender and smoothed it over, which is why the right fender emblum is missing. it has its minor cosmetic flaws, but overall its a good reliable daily driver. Gets 15-18MPG depending on how patient you are.

Body is straight, drives well and does not chew up rubber. No cancer and only very minor surface rust around the edges of the hood and gas cap. Rear bumber was moved a little on te left when someone backed into me in a parking lot with their truck. Original california black plate car, and I still have the original ignition and trunk key. Seats recline for comfort. back seat and trunk are huge. Makes for a great weeked driver too, and gets lotsa compliments.

I really hate to let this one go, but I am in much more need of coin than I am an extra car. This has always been well maintained, and I keep my receipts and records.

Asking $4500 or best offer.

That's a beautiful car Jordan. I wish I had the dough to be able to afford a second (antique) vehicle. Very clean inside and out. Gotta love the speedometer markings in MPH x10 and the "all transistor" AM radio with the two Conelrad/Civil Defense frequency markings on the dial!

My mother owed a 64 convertable. What a fun car that was!

Dad had a car almost exactly like that, except his was light green and was a 3-speed with overdrive. It was virtually indestructable... he called it the Blunderbuss. I can attest to its ruggedness, as I, as a kid, was playing around in it one day, and accidentally started it in gear, and it ran into a pile of lumber my dad had in the backyard. Knocked the stack over, but the car was unscathed. REAL STEEL bumpers!

Of course, I would still have to pick the '62 American he had. Just a really good looking car...

Regards,
Gordon.
