I have a pair of Heresy II's and was wondering what my best choice for amplification would be. I have a marantz 2250b and a kenwood basic m1a, both in great shape. Right now I use the marantz as a preamp and the M1a for amplification but I was wondering If I would be better off just hooking the speakers directly up to the marantz. The kenwood amp is more powerful, but either way I hook it up it is way too loud for my apartment. What would you guys do? Tough decision for me.

I would try using the Marantz amp as well as the Kenwood, then see what you like best. Very often, a smaller amp will sound best on the Klipsch - they really don't need that much power anyway.

the marantz is a better sounding amp to me. it'll be warmer, and more tube "like." you don't need more than a few watts to effectivly blast those.

Marantz vs. Kenwood? What do ya prefer?? Warm tube-like sound or steril while exact solidstate? :scratch2:
Give it a try. I prefer Marantz...

I have heresie 2s and had them hooked up to a 2275 and it was great. I then got adcom seperates, but with the marantz they were GREAT!
