I'll go First, with a Big Fat "YES" skippy_ps 09-12-2006, 02:36 PM Just did a quick count from memory but I have 23 pieces of vintage McGear including 6 tuners. Murray CarlV 09-12-2006, 02:55 PM I have 23 pieces 18 here Carl 19, forgot the MC225 pmsummer 09-12-2006, 02:58 PM My job and income keep me addiction-free. And the wife, dare I forget. Audible Nectar 09-12-2006, 06:38 PM I voted "NO", because I'm addicted to Mac and don't want or need any remedy for it. But on another level I suppose I did need help in choosing the right McIntosh components, how to tube them and so forth - and also service help in getting them restored:D jim777 09-12-2006, 06:47 PM Already got a MA6500 and a MCD201, years before my 30's (and still a grad student).. I think that an addiction is building up ;) paul cbc 09-12-2006, 07:30 PM You mean the collections noted above are not normal? :scratch2: Paul :D masterlu 09-12-2006, 07:53 PM I think alot of members must be on Vacation, or too busy installing new Mac gear  luvvinvinyl 09-12-2006, 08:02 PM I voted "NO", because I'm addicted to Mac and don't want or need any remedy for it. Does that mean you're actually 'in denial'? luvvinvinyl 09-12-2006, 08:08 PM I haven't succumbed to the McIntosh addiction (yet) as our local dealer sucks rocks. He got the account about 8 months ago, and still has the McIntosh gear crowded into one small room. "I have to make room for the Bose"!!!!!!! Yes, dear friends, my local McIntosh dealer is more into HT than audio, and BOSE is his flagship line. The Harmon group gear is gone, so he has Pioneer Elite, Mac, and Bose, and a LOT of TVs. <sigh> One day... barrynsue 09-12-2006, 08:08 PM I used my Jethro Bodine method and multiplied naught over naught, carried the 3, and divided by 8 and came up with 33  Going to let some of it go however to a more reasonble # but just when I seem to get the total down, my pets Mac and Tosh (she's a real cutie) start producing like rabbits! Next thing I know, it will be up to 50! Do you think I have an additiction? Ok, maybe I do. I'm going to face reality and start by getting rid of my C-22 and MC-225. Or maybe I can really prove that I don't have an addition by selling my MQ-104. If that doesn't show that I can quit, nothing will! :thmbsp: Barry willyrover 09-12-2006, 08:12 PM You mean Mac computers? *JK* masterlu 09-12-2006, 08:14 PM You mean Mac computers? *JK* Your Outta Here! barrynsue 09-12-2006, 08:16 PM I wasn't willing to pay to naming rights to McIntosh so we call him MaC. jrsystems 09-12-2006, 11:47 PM I haven't succumbed to the McIntosh addiction (yet) as our local dealer sucks rocks. Are there issues bringing back purchases over the border? JR Victor 09-12-2006, 11:57 PM I still owe the dealer $2000 for the C1000 I just bought and a few days ago I added up my credit card bills and it is McUgly! And I'm still trying to work out deals on MC501s and a MDA1000. Please sent help FAST! :) Victor VintageMac 09-13-2006, 12:34 AM Hmmmmmm. Didn't realize I was an addict until I counted all of them up. 44! Yikes! Negotiableterms 09-13-2006, 02:06 AM I thought I might need help, but reading the posts in this thread convinced me to vote otherwise. I only have 25 pieces. I'm fine. Really... fine. Oops...27. Still, it's fine. Completely fine... Jem666 09-13-2006, 03:09 AM Is it an addiction or is it a spell, some kind of McVooDoo :scratch2: Haunting blue and intoxicating green, the intangible entity known as "Ron-C", oracle of wisdom :ntwrthy: or Lord of deafening silence :naughty: I don't mind, its a charmed life :D ...aaarrrrgggghhhh...I want....(imminent cold turkey), I need a MVP1000-fix :grnbounce luvvinvinyl 09-13-2006, 04:17 AM Is there a better dealer in Detroit? Are there issues bringing back purchases over the border? JR Well, there is that 14% sales tax thing, and the hassles of cross-border warranty service problems, should they ever arrive. Hell, I can't even get a decent listening session, yet. Too much stuff in too little space, to show it off, and let it work. I'll have to make the 120 mile drive to London, I guess. masterlu 09-13-2006, 08:22 AM I thought I might need help, but reading the posts in this thread convinced me to vote otherwise. Completely fine... :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: PHC1 09-13-2006, 09:24 AM Perhaps expressing your Mac collection in weight would make a more sober judgment of your addiction. Having a "ton" (2240 lbs) of Mac gear would put you in "you need help" category. I only have about 310 lbs so far. Still 1928 lbs left! Side note: It seems Mac gear is worth it's weight in gold! masterlu 09-13-2006, 09:51 AM Perhaps expressing your Mac collection in weight would make a more sober judgment of your addiction. In fact, "I'm Barely Holding On" :lmao: barrynsue 09-13-2006, 10:25 AM I'm only a little over halfway there @ about 1,200 lbs. not including cabinets which are not included in the totals. So at this point, this method is preferred as it proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that there is no addiction on my part! macman007 09-13-2006, 10:50 AM waaay past addiction here...I would say overdose is more like it.......but if ya gotta go....... :drunk: GaryP 09-13-2006, 12:21 PM Deny, deny, deny! I have two! CarlV 09-13-2006, 01:36 PM I sure feel better that there are quite a few with more pieces than me. It is getting to be a PIA to keep it all in rotation and fired up regularly. And then there is the non McIntosh stuff.... Carl rocky2889 09-13-2006, 02:15 PM I think alot of members must be on Vacation, or too busy installing new Mac gear  You are right I am just back from Las Vegas. I am still in denial stage.
