At least I hope it's a score and judging by what I'm hearing tonight, I'd say it is. I'm very pleased with the speakers so far.
I came across this site a couple weeks ago while doing google searches for my restoration project - Sony TC-366, but that's another thread in another forum. I've spent the past couple weeks reading the posts and learning a lot. It also woke up the little voice in my head to hit the thrifts, SA, GW, etc. Didn't see a whole lot out there but the Soundesign with cracked faceplates and other assorted garbage. Well, I read this post - http://audiokarma.org/forums/showthread.php?t=78303
and since I live near this GW I thought I'd take a chance and if the Fishers were still there great, if not maybe there are some laserdiscs (another hobby) or some cool vinyl. The Fishers were long gone, but as I looked around some bookcases, I was stopped dead in my tracks. First thing I noticed were the rear-facing 12" drivers and sure enough I get up to them and the Klipsch tags are there with the serial #s, etc (sequencial). Turn them around and the covers have the badging on them and everything is near mint. The surrounds are flawless. These speakers were well cared for. Then I saw the price - $30 for the pair. The only thing I need to do is bring out a little of the original luster of the Oak veneer.
Sorry for the long post, I guess I'm a little excited over today's find. Not the $50 Cornwall score (which is absolutely amazing, btw), but it's my first. I can post pics if anyone is interested.
