Klipsch Belles ~ Opinions? How Do They Compare?

I've had the opportunity to hear most of the older Klipsch speakers but I am wondering about the Klipsch Belles? I've never had the opportunity to hear those and would like to know how they compare to say the Khorns and Cornwalls? Thanks

If I remember correctly, I think the Belle Klipsch speakers are beautified La Scalas and should have the same basic performance, they look like the new LaScala II's. Bass performance will not go into the deepest octave like the Khorns, but they will be very efficient. I think they are 38" high by 24" wide by 24" deep. I'd love to hear them in my living room someday.

I think the bass horn path is quite a bit different that the LaScala. The Belle Klipsch is more shallow than the LaScala, so I have heard that it also has a "special" shortened mid horn. There are people that say the Belle doesn't sound as nice as the LaScala, but they are so beautiful! I have only heard the LaScala, and I like the sound (being an Altec guy). I actually measured (all dimensions) of a LaScala back in 1975, and drew up some crude plans. We built 3 pair, AND 3 pair of Khorns. I have the "Dope from Hope" papers, which is very good info, and some of it is funny, too! Paul suggested a resistor bank on the bottom of a Heresy to make it accept 1000 watts! I still have a soft spot for the older Klipsch line, and the current salesmen have never seen or heard them.

You'd need ears like a bat to hear the difference. The bass horns are functionally the same; it's just that the straight part of the LS basshorn after the 90 degree corner is different on the Belle, that section on the Belle continues to the side, when the Belle turns the corner it goes directly to the last flare, same horn dimensionally but a different layout, thus the Belle is wider but the LS deeper.

If you like the one speaker you'll like the other.

The Klipsch site shows the Belles to be 35.625" x 30.125" x 18.75"
the LS's at 35.5" x 23.75" x 24.5"
and the LS II's at 38.5” x 24.25” x 25.25”

Would love the opportunity to hear any of them...... :sigh:
