I recently replaced a Toshiba 16x9 set w/ gloss screen for a Samsung 16x9 w/ matte screen. I can now have a light on in the room when I am watching the set. With the gloss screen, any light on in the room would allow the gloss screen to act as a mirror. Very distracting to constantly see myself hoisting a beer.
