I posted a question about setting the DC offset for a Marantz 27 receiver a few days ago but no responses - are there any of these out there or do I have an ultrare one of a kind? :scratch2:

View Full Version : Any Marantz 27's out there? ejman 09-20-2006, 04:19 PM I posted a question about setting the DC offset for a Marantz 27 receiver a few days ago but no responses - are there any of these out there or do I have an ultrare one of a kind? :scratch2: mhardy6647 09-20-2006, 05:50 PM ummm, I have a 26, but not a 27. Why am I reminded of Spinal Tap? :-) ejman 09-21-2006, 02:50 PM That bad uh? well anyway maybe the 26 is similar to the 27 - did you adjust the offset in the 26? mhardy6647 09-21-2006, 03:09 PM nope. cleaned the controls and used as is. I checked for DC on the outputs (learned my lesson the hard way on an OCL amp once) but wasn't alarmed by what I saw. Are those cap-coupled amps? I really don't remember. I haven't looked at mine for a long time. Bought it at a flea market for $10 one day because it was so cute. ejman 09-21-2006, 05:22 PM I don't think so (don't have any technical info on the Marantz 27 receiver at all) but as I understand it if it were cap coupled then there wouldn't be a large dc offset and I'm getting about 50 mv - correct me if I'm wrong - no techie here. mhardy6647 09-21-2006, 08:23 PM as long as the output caps are good, yes, you're correct. I reckon the 26 and 27 are complementary, but they're older so I dunno. If I get energetic, I'll look at the 26. If. |
