(Note: I am posting this listing, here, as it is not an auction, but a sale, with all proceeds to benefit AK. Seller does not have direct privileges in this forum, so I am acting as a proxy, on wajobu's behalf, for the post. Pics will follow, as soon as they are available. - luvvinvinyl, Admin.)

Greetings Fellow AKers,

Time to make room at home, so I have another very nice Yamaha CR-220 receiver up for sale to benefit Audiokarma. This receiver is in very good cosmetic shape with all functions operational. I have noticed occasionally that the Tuning Meter will stick off and on when tuning AM stations. It sounds great--it has AM, FM Mono, FM Auto (stereo with muting), Phono, Aux and Tape Monitor. This receiver does not have the separate record and play “Rec Out” function, but it DOES have the variable loudness control. The lights work.

Merrylander helped revive the FM on this and added an improved ground line internally and I have recently set the Idling Current to factory spec. The DC Offset is less than 10mV on both channels.

Price for the receiver is $40 (US funds...all directly to AK) and the buyer will pay shipping, which should be about $10 to $20, depending on your location.

Thanks,
wajobu

Yikes! Gotta read that PM already!...and I only just sent the photo to luvvinvinyl!

Oh! Just realized that I can upload the photo on my own now that the ad is posted.

Looks like we may already have a buyer! Going once, twice...

It's a nice little receiver, too.
Just for grins and/or benefit to the winner, the innards of a CR-220 looks like this:

I've learned my lesson (well, I'm trying) on eBay, and I have vowed to purchase no more electronic gear unless it is currently in the hands of AK members. I've purchased a few things from merrylander and have been extremely pleased, with both the transaction and the gear itself. I'm confident that this transaction will be as enjoyable...........plus, the knowledge that the proceeds go to help keep this wonderful site up and running is just added gravy.
Thank you all.

...and thank you all for your kind words. I just love this hobby and AK, and while I'll certainly don't have the expertise of the REAL techs out there, cleaning, revitalizing and adjusting are within my reach (including replacing the occasional output transistors!). It feels great to have a hog-dog arrive at my workbench and within a week or two it USUALLY comes out the other-end working and looking almost like new (and sounding pretty nice too!).

After spending a few hours re-arranging the "music room", the speakers that I have at present are at last properly arranged (guess I need another wheelie cart for more equipment!).

I spent an hour or two yesterday listening passively (while painting a second coat on some window sash) to one of my A-1s and the previously damaged CA-1000 noted in another thread. I have been quite impressed with the solid little CA-1000 (from the mid-70s with a nice walnut cabinet that I still want to refinish)...what a sweet sounding little amp, especially in Class A when it helps with heating the room! :music:

I think I need something else on the workbench!
