I was wondering whether anyone knows of a source for replacement belts for my Nakamichi CD-2 and Yamaha CD-400.

Thanks in advance.

I got a CD2 that had the slipping drawer belt. My local electrical supply carries a line of generic belts, I was able to find a perfect fitting match for it.
Nice player, a keeper. :)

Carl,

Does the CD-2 have only 1 belt or several? How do I access them? thru the bottom? Any info is appreciated.

Savv,

Is your nak the CD Player2 with the 6 disc stack + 1 single? If it is then all 3 belts are available from McIntosh - who used the nak transport in a contemporary cd changer. I can post the part numbers when I get home.

Try Yamaha parts & service department for the CD-400 belt(s); they are very good.

You haven't said what your issues were.
There are supposedly 3 belts, I only replaced the drawer one as that was what needed doing. I replaced it from the top. I made a hook tool from a thin coat hanger to loop it around the pulley. had to remove a few things to access.
The other belts are considerably more work, so I took the gamble on the one needed. So far it has paid off nicely. :)

Ok, since McIntosh used the Nak CD Player 2/3 transport in the MCD-7008 they still carry belts.
Tray loading belt: 310315SP
Stocker belt: 310314SP
Clamp motor belt: 310313SP

Go to www.mcintoshlabs.com

You have to take off the top cover. Removing the transport unit from the chassis might not be necessary to change the tray belt, but it will make it easier.
