I bought a powered promedia subwoofer hoping to use a couple of non-Klipsch satellites with it on my son's PC. The 'preamp in' connection looks like an s-video socket in size and pin configuration. I looked on-line at these promedia series and did not see how the signals come into the powered subwoofer. There are standard spring-loaded plugs for the satellites speakers connecting to the sub. Is it simply a matter of making/finding an adapter plug or is there some kind of a special preamp needed to make it work??? thanks.

Pro media 2.1's are controled by a "pod" attached to the bottom of one of the satellites. The connection to the sub is a 6 pin mini din plug. The pins are availible from many sources but I beleive yo would still need the pod for controling the built in sub amplifier. The pods are availible from both Klipsch and as rebuilts on Ebay. If you watch you can pick up the appropriate satellites and pod on Ebay, or Klipsch. This is a picture of the pod, it has the din pin for connecting to the sub as well as the connection to your sound card.

Hope this helps.
