I want to copy some of my own DVD and I was wondering if there is any software like EAC but for DVDs.

The software is called 'DVD Shrink' and is free I think.
It copies the audio completely uncompressed. The picture is compressed only if the content cannot fit onto the DVD-R uncompressed. It let's you keep the identical sound format too (even DTS!). Software is very easy to use, and you can also make up compilations, - very handy for my 'concert nights'! :thmbsp:.

1ClickDVD Copy V5 is one of the best. Great results, and the menu/navigation is so simple a child could figure it out.
Its listed at the top for copying software. Its not free though.

This software is illegal in both the US and Germany. Their stronger copyright laws forced the software maker to include warnings about dloading or using DVD Shrink if you live in those countries. Oh and you really need more than just 1 piece of software nowadays. Some discs require different software to get around the encryption encoded on many newer discs.

Crackerkorean,
Getting any use out of those Corals?
I saw where you have decided to go through with your nuclear test. This is not a wise option. The US will not engage in bilateral negotiations with you, and you must return to the six party talks you withdrew from in order to put an end to this crisis.
As far as copying DVD's goes, I wasted many an hour behind my PC until I came up with a method that works. This is what works best for me.
You will need two programs. They are both free. The first is DVD Decrypter, and I believe you can get it off the German Doom 9 website.
The second is DVD Shrink. Can't remember where I found the download, but I think I saved the page in my favorites so if you can't find it I would be happy to forward you the link.
After you have installed both programs, insert the DVD you wish to copy. and open DVD Decrypter.
Select MODE-ISO-WRITE and select the destination for the ripped .iso file.
Then click the DVD to Hard Drive icon to begin ripping the movie to your hard drive.
After the DVD ISO file has been ripped to your hard drive, open DVD Shrink.
Select FILE-OPEN DISC IMAGE and select the ISO file you just ripped to your HD.
DVD Shrink will then anaylize the DVD and let you manipulate which items on the disc you would like to keep or discard. EX: 5.1 sound, subtitles, special features, ect.
I usually remove all audio except 2 channel stereo, take out all subtitles(especially french), and also remove special features in order to free up more disc space for picture quality.
After you have decided which features you would like to keep, pop in a DVD-R and hit the BACK UP button on DVD Shrink. The final burn will proceed.
IMPORTANT-Be sure to delete any ISO file you ripped to your hard drive, as these are very large files. (almost 9GB)
They make it tough on you that is for sure. All the DVD's you purchase are on 9GB discs (DVD 9's) and the only blank DVD's they sell are 4.7GB (DVD 5's) Basically you are trying to cram 9 gigs of info onto a 5 gig disc, hence this ordeal.
So, these two programs should allow you to copy anything at will. Beware of DVD's made by SONY, as they can be a little tougher to reproduce. A program called ANY DVD by Slysoft can get around the encryption however.
I have heard of DVD drives that can write DVD 9's, and I have heard of blank DVD 9's, but I have yet to see or use either of them.
It really chaps my hide that I have only been able to copy regular DVD's for a short period of time, now they come out with this BLU-RAY disc and "HD" DVD... So hard to stay ahead of the curve...
Hope this helps.

I will reiterate what I said earlier. Since you live in the US, DVD Shrink is illegal to use. Oh and DVD 9's are available almost everywhere around here and have been for some time.

You Canadians are always so far ahead of the technolgy curve, as evidenced by your space program.
So far our local WAL-Mart has yet to stock the DVD 9's, but I can still go there and buy NOS Realistic blank 8 track cartridges and Betamax tapes.

You Georgians can't even spell technology and last I checked the robot arm used on the shuttle to perform repairs on the space station was designed in Canada, built in Canada and operated in space by a Canadian.
Y'all get THAT !!! :tresbon:

If I were going to copy DVD's (which I'm not of course) I'd use LG Innovations One Click to do it. (BTW I think they are Canadian)
It's not free but it's by far the easiest to use and their support and upgrades are excellent.

You also need to get dvd43 to decrypt them, (you will need this even with DVD Shrink), it's a free program and if you are asked to pay for it you are being ripped off.
This is from One Click's FAQ:
"Is it legal to copy a DVD?
In some countries it's still considered illegal to copy a DVD, just as it once was to copy a music CD. Unlike audio CD's, fair use laws don't allow for copies to be made of DVDs because they are encrypted. The laws surrounding the encryption of DVD movies is currently being challenged in U.S. courts. We don't encourage or condone the use of 1Click DVD Copy to make illegal copies of DVD's."

This is the treatment I get? I wasn't even being sarcastic. I had no idea Canadians could be so crude. They are usually so furry and cute.
As far as the program being "illegal", back in the 80's when I used to make my awesome mixtapes and take them down to the rec center and pop them into my JVC boombox and do the backspin on a piece of cardboard some cats were callin' that illegal too. But you know what? I just kept on dubbin mixtapes and doin' the worm and the robot. I wasn't hearin' none of that illegal stuff. Why cuz' I' was too cool for school.
And by the way - I don't live in Georgia no more. I'm the president of my own imaginary country called "PIRATE LAND". Here, all the citizens have full legal right to copy any media they own - regardless of what any RIAA lovin' Canadians have to say.
Hows "aboot" that? :D

I have used DVD43 in the past with 1ClickDVD and it works great, fast, easy to use and produces great copies.
I have read some of the comparisons between DVD43 and AnyDVD and it only seems that AnyDVD is updated more often (because you pay for it) but they both are about the same. But if DVD43 stops being updated then im gonna have to try out AnyDVD.

I'll second kerozene's recommendation of SlySoft's products. I use SlySoft AnyDVD and CloneDVD2 to back-up all my discs. Their CloneDVDmobile is great for ripping DVD's onto my Treo 650 for when I travel. Why pull out a laptop to play my collection of Seinfeld episodes, etc., when I can use my handheld. :D
Great products and even better support!

Seems like 1ClickDVD Pro is the winner for picture quality alone.
