There is a SX-34B tube receiver on the bay:

The serial number ("ML") would make it a December 1966 component.

Standard disclaimers apply.

I wonder, then, how old the original 34 would be, with the tuning eye.

34 music watts of house-shaking power. Heh.

Ca. 8 wpc (continuous, "sine wave" power) from PP 6BM8's.
Not bad little receivers; also sold by Allied as Allied or Knight 333's. Even the "magic eye" versions must be mid-1960's (I would think); the overall cosmetics are just too modern...

A little cramped above and below decks :-(

That looks like a very nice collectible piece. How would that thing sound?

It' ain't a Fisher :-(

It sounds OK... it looks quite nice, and it's well built (although not for fat Western hands like mine). Disclosure: I don't own one of these; I re-capped the one in the photo I (re)posted for a co-worker.

I have a Pioneer c-2000 receiver that I got a few years ago. The face has the same control setup as that one and uses the 6bm8 outputs. Some of the script is worn off and is somewhat different. I really don not know much about it. I use it for my PC system with a pair of Polk RT25i bookshelfs. Also have a CT-F615 deck I found recently. Nice warm pleasing sound and warms up the room too. No it is not a Fisher but is nice little piece.
